Westwego man wanted for domestic abuse found with narcotics in park

Golden Meadow Chief of Police Reggie Pitre announced the arrest of Lennie Gabriel, 41, of Westwego on June 29, 2019.
On the evening of Saturday, June 29, a concerned citizen reported seeing a picture on Facebook of a man lying on a bench at Oak Ridge Community Park. The caller was concerned the man possibly had suffered an overdose. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the man and identified him as Lennie Gabriel. Gabriel was exhibiting signs of possibly being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In speaking to Gabriel, officers discovered he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and several pills for which he did not have a prescription, as well as various drug paraphernalia.
Officers learned Gabriel had a warrant in Lafourche Parish related to a domestic incident in February 2019. He was wanted for Domestic Abuse Battery and False Imprisonment in the incident.
Gabriel was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was booked on the warrant for Domestic Abuse Battery and False Imprisonment. He was additionally charged with Possession of Heroin, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, a Legend Drug, and Drug Paraphernalia. His bail is set at $8,100.
